Frozen food was thawed the wrong way.

Inspector’s note: Observed facility not meeting thawing requirements. Food handler thawing frozen broccoli in one compartment prep sink sitting in stagnant water. Informed food handler of proper thawing methods (must utilize running water with enough volatility when thawing). Must meet proper thawing requirements and maintain. The manager corrected the violation during the inspection by utilizing one of the thawing methods.

Equipment or surfaces were in poor repair or made of material that can’t be cleaned.

Inspector’s note: Observed milk crates being used as shelving throughout the prep and dry storage area. Must remove and provide shelving 6" off the floor and provide floor accessibility to ensure adequate facility cleaning.

Inspector’s note: Observed overhead cold-water supply pipe with a small leak in the chemical storage area. Instructed manager to have leak repaired.

Dishwashing equipment wasn’t set up, maintained, or used correctly.

Inspector’s note: Observed 3- compartment sink hot water temperature at 101.9f and cooling as water fills up sink .must have a minimum temperature of 110.0f and maintain. Engineer adjusted water tank thermostate during inspection. Hot water is now at 111.8f.(priority 7-38-025)(cos)(no citation issued)

Inspector’s note: Observed several teachers come in cafeteria assisting with serving putting on gloves prior to washing their hands. Instructed manager to inform of hand washing before placing gloves on.
